#9 - Trail and North earn SIAC honors

Tuskegee players sweep SIAC Player of the Year honors

The 2014-15 athletic year for Tuskegee University ended as another successful campaign for all sports, claiming two conference titles and participating in the postseason in football and softball. The sports information office at Tuskegee, along with the help of fans and alumni from the university, have put together a list of the top moments from the past year. Over the next three weeks, the highlights from the year will be posted on GoldenTigerSports.com, with the top moment being revealed on July 31.

#9 :: North and Trail earn SIAC Player of the Year Honors in tennis


A pair of Tuskegee tennis players walked away with the highest honors presented during the season as Reicia North and Oshane Trail claimed the Player of the Year awards, on the men's and women's side respectively. The two were among the student athletes honored as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference presented its 2015 tennis honors to mark the official start to the 2015 SIAC Championships.

North, a freshman major from Carrolton, Georgia, was named the SIAC Women's Player and Freshman of the Year after leading the Tigerettes to a 10-5 conference record and the number three seed in the championships. North earned First Team honors in singles, and was also named First Team in doubles with partner, Kimberley Brown. North was one of three players selected to the first team in singles and in doubles.

Meanwhile Trail, a junior from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, was a key component as the Golden Tigers finished with an 8-5-conference record and the number two spot in the men's championship bracket. Trail earned First Team honors in singles as well as doubles with his partner, Andrew Knight. Trail was one of three players to earn first team honors in singles and in doubles.
