ORLANDO, Fla. — The Tuskegee men's tennis team delivered a strong showing at the SIAC Round Up, finishing 5-1 over three days of competition at Sanlando Tennis Park.

The Golden Tigers split Thursday's matches, then swept Friday's slate with two 7-0 victories and closed the weekend Saturday with a pair of wins including a dramatic 4-3 rematch victory over Spring Hill.

Thursday: Tuskegee 7, LeMoyne-Owen 0
Tuskegee opened the weekend in dominant fashion with a 7-0 sweep of LeMoyne-Owen. The Golden Tigers secured the doubles point behind convincing wins from
Thompson Thomu and
Shane Tapera at No. 1 (6-2) and
Kevin Eutsey and
Ty'lon Miller at No. 2 (6-0).
Emmanuel Wettey and
Tyler Ladge completed the doubles sweep with a 6-0 victory at No. 3.

In singles play, Tuskegee controlled every court. Thompson and Tapera each earned straight-set victories at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Eutsey, Miller, Wettey, and Ladge followed with commanding wins to seal the shutout and set the tone for the weekend.

Later Thursday afternoon, Tuskegee faced Spring Hill and dropped a 6-1 decision. The Golden Tigers earned a win in singles from Eutsey at No. 3, who captured a straight-set victory, but Spring Hill secured the doubles point and claimed five singles courts to hand Tuskegee its lone loss of the weekend.

Tuskegee bounced back emphatically Friday with a 7-0 sweep of Benedict. Thompson and Tapera powered the No. 1 doubles win 6-2, while Eutsey and Miller added a 6-3 victory at No. 2. Wettey and Ladge finished off the doubles point with a 6-1 decision.

In singles, Thompson delivered a straight-set win at No. 1, Tapera handled No. 2 in straight sets, and Eutsey and Miller controlled their respective courts. Wettey and Ladge capped the sweep with dominant performances to secure the shutout.

Tuskegee completed Friday with another 7-0 sweep over LeMoyne-Owen. The Golden Tigers again swept doubles play and rolled through singles competition. Thompson, Tapera, and Eutsey each earned straight-set wins, while Miller, Wettey, and Ladge closed out strong performances to give Tuskegee its second shutout of the day.

On Saturday afternoon, Tuskegee defeated Benedict 4-0 in a shortened match format. Eutsey and Miller secured a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, and Wettey and Ladge added a 6-0 victory at No. 3 to claim the doubles point.

In singles, Miller earned a straight-set victory at No. 5, Eutsey won by opponent retirement at No. 4, and Wettey sealed the team win with a straight-set decision at No. 6 to clinch the match.

The weekend concluded with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Spring Hill in a rematch of Thursday's loss. After dropping the doubles point, Tuskegee rallied in singles play.
