MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Tuskegee University men's and women's tennis teams were in action on Friday morning at the AUM Tennis Complex, with both squads falling to Auburn University at Montgomery.
AUM 6, Tuskegee 1
The Tuskegee men dropped a 6-1 decision, while the women were defeated 7-0.
The Golden Tigers fell to 0-4 on the season following the 6-1 loss.
AUM secured the doubles point, winning all three matches. Tuskegee's closest doubles contest came at No. 2, where Kevin Eutsey and Ty'lon Miller battled before falling 6-3.
In singles play, the Golden Tigers fought throughout the lineup. Eutsey pushed his No. 3 singles match to three sets, claiming the second set before falling in the deciding frame.
Tuskegee's lone point came in singles competition, as the Golden Tigers showed resilience despite the team result.
The men will look to regroup as they continue their early-season slate.
AUM 7, Tuskegee 0
Tuskegee women's tennis moved to 2-3 on the season after falling 7-0 to the Warhawks.
AUM captured the doubles point with wins at all three positions.
In singles play, several Golden Tigers competed closely in extended rallies. Asia McRae forced a tight first set at No. 3 singles, while other matches featured competitive stretches despite the final scoreline.
