ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has recognized Tuskegee runner Malcolm Kibiwot as the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week following his standout performance at the Twilight at John Hunt Park meet in Huntsville, Ala.
Kibiwot turned in a career-best showing in the men's 8K, crossing the line in 27:07.2. His time marked the second-fastest in the SIAC this season and ranked 23rd overall in a highly competitive field that featured several regional powers.
His effort paced the Golden Tigers to a ninth-place team finish out of 18 programs, with Tuskegee posting a combined time of 2:28:13 and a 29:38 average.
The Golden Tigers will return to action in the coming weeks as they continue preparations for the SIAC Cross Country Championships.
