HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Tuskegee University cross country continued to build momentum Friday evening at the Twilight at PR'ville meet, hosted at John Hunt Park, as both the men's and women's squads turned in strong team efforts highlighted by personal bests, top-10 conference performances, and solid depth across the lineup.
On the men's side, Malcolm Kibiwot once again led the Golden Tigers with a time of 27:97.2 in the 8K, finishing 23rd overall in a loaded field and recording the second-fastest time in the SIAC this season and fastest mark in school history.
He was joined by Gabriel Carty, who ran 28:21.2 and Bethwell Kibet, who finished in 28:47.7. Rounding out the effort was Jayden Davidson clocked at 29:35.0 and Christian Sanders at 34:23.5.
As a group, the men placed ninth out of 18 teams, recording a total time of 2:28.13 (29:38 average) with 265 points.
The women's side also showcased depth and balance, finishing sixth out of 16 teams with a cumulative time of 1:48.06 (21:37 average) and 170 points.
Leading the way was sophomore standout Anaya Martin, who turned in a season-best 20:37.0 to place 13th overall and post the fastest SIAC time of the week.
Close behind was Akierah Walker (21:17.0, 30th), while Taylor Franklin (21:54.3), Genesis Harrell (22:02.3), and Shalyah Tresvant (22:27.4) rounded out the top five.
Tuskegee will return to action with momentum, looking to sharpen further as they prepare for the latter part of the season and the SIAC Championship.
