MACON, Ga. – The Tuskegee men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances at the 2025 SIAC Cross Country Championships on Friday at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course, with both squads finishing as runner-up.

The women's team delivered a strong second-place finish, led by sophomore standout
Anaya Martin, who crossed the line third overall with a time of 19:55.62, earning All-SIAC honors for the second straight year.

She was followed closely by
Taylor Franklin in sixth place at 20:24.38, while
Akierah Walker finished ninth in 21:06.35 to round out three Golden Tigers in the top 10.

Shalyah Tresvant and
Malinah Whatley completed the scoring group with times of 22:11.93 and 22:16.87, respectively, while
Mia Lindsey (21st, 22:18.60) and
Genesis Harrell (24th, 23:21.39) provided key support to secure the runner-up team result.

The women's average team time of 21:15 marked a new program benchmark, reflecting the team's remarkable progress this season.

The men's team mirrored that success with a second-place finish of their own, highlighted by
Malcolm Kibiwot's outstanding performance as he placed second overall with a time of 27:04.89, narrowly missing the individual title.

Kibiwot's effort capped an impressive season that saw him emerge as one of the top distance runners in the SIAC and earning All-SIAC honors.

Gabriel Carty also placed inside the top 10, finishing eighth in 28:23.00, followed by
Bethwel Kibet in tenth at 28:34.99.

Jayden Davidson added valuable points with a 14th-place finish in 29:37.74, while
Carl Richards (27th, 31:47.99) and
Christian Sanders (30th, 32:06.69) helped Tuskegee secure its highest team finish in conference history.

With the SIAC Championships now complete, both Golden Tiger squads will look to build upon their strong finishes as they begin preparations for the next phase of training and competition.
