DANVILLE, Ala. – The Tuskegee men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances at the Warhawk Invitational, hosted by Calhoun Community College over the weekend.

The Golden Tiger women finished sixth overall out of 17 teams, while the men placed eighth out of 19 in a competitive regional field featuring several Division II and NAIA programs.

The women's team placed five runners in the top 50, led by
Akierah Walker, who crossed the finish line in 20:49.8 to place 23rd overall.
Â
She was followed closely by teammate
Taylor Franklin at 20:50.2 (24th), along with other top finishers in
Shalyah Tresvant at 21:38.2 (34th), and Malinah Whatley at 22:00.3 (41st).

Mia Lindsey rounded out the top finishers for the day for the Golden Tigers, clocking 22:07.3 for 44th place.

The women's depth and consistent pacing helped secure a sixth-place finish, marking one of their strongest outings of the season and showing continued progress heading into the conference championships.

On the men's side,
Malcolm Kibiwot continued his strong season, leading the Golden Tigers with a time of 26:33.0, earning eighth place overall.

Jayden Davidson was the next Golden Tiger across the finish line in 32nd at 28:10.6. Betwel Kibet also added a solid effort, placing 52nd with a time of 29:19.0.

Tuskegee will now shift its focus to the SIAC Cross Country Championships, scheduled for October 24 at the Georgia Prier Cross Country Course in Macon, Georgia.
