TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee cross country will continue its fall slate this weekend as both the men's and women's teams travel to Huntsville, Alabama, for the Twilight at PR'Ville meet, hosted at John Hunt Park.
The Golden Tigers are looking to build on momentum from their strong performance last week at the Willie Laster Invitational, where both squads recorded second-place team finishes and several standout individual efforts.
The men's team will look to keep its pack tight after Malcolm Kibiwot led the charge with a runner-up finish in the men's 8K at 27:31.7, while Gabriel Carty (28:48.10) and Jayden Davidson (29:04.9) added valuable points with their top 15 placements.
Their consistency has given Tuskegee a dependable front-running duo, while developing depth among younger runners has been key to early-season success.
On the women's side, the Golden Tigers have been led by Anaya Martin and Taylor Franklin, who have both opened the season with strong form.
Franklin clocked a 20:17.0 in the women's 5K at the Falcon Classic earlier this month and continues to provide steady leadership up front, while Martin's podium finish at the Willie Laster Invitational (3rd overall in 20:37.0) showcased her strength in distance races.
With support from experienced runners like Serenity Mitchell and a growing cast of underclassmen, the women's team has been able to keep pace with some of the region's top programs.
The Twilight at PR'ville promises to be one of Tuskegee's most challenging tests so far this season, featuring deep competition across both divisions.
The meet also serves as another opportunity to judge progress ahead of the championship stretch of the season, including the SIAC Championships in late October.
