TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee cross country started its season at the Montevallo Falcon Classic on Friday, finishing seventh and ninth respectively in the field of a combined 29 men and women's programs at the Montevallo Cross Country Course.
On the women's side, Tuskegee had standout performances from several athletes. Junior
Anaya Martin led the way with a time of 20:22.6, placing 22nd overall.
Jahkaya McBurney followed with 21:57.5 and
Akierah Walker finished in 23:05.6, while
Shalyah Tresvant (23:14.0),
Genesis Harrell (23:39.6),
Jurni Janac (24:49.3), and
Eternity Bellamy (27:35.6) all completed their first collegiate meets.
The team placed 7th overall, with a total time of 1:52:19 and an average of 22:27.
The men's team placed 9th overall with a total time of 2:27:54 and an average of 29:34.
Notable performances include freshman
Angelo Allen, who finished with a time of 26:42 in his first meet as a Golden Tiger, finishing 13th. Next for Tuskegee were sophomores Edgar Kosgei (29:22.4) and
Dennis Kibet (30:06.2), along with freshmen
Jayden Davidson (30:42.2) and
Carl Richards (30:53.0).
The final finishers for TU were
Austin Stokes (31:05.0),
Aiden Bass (36:21.7),
Christian Sanders (36:40.5),
Jaiden Turner (37:09.4), and
Jordan Webb (43:08.7). The team showed solid efforts in a competitive field.
