FAIRBURN, Ga. – The Tuskegee cross country program competed in its xx meet of the year on Friday at the Georgia Tech XC Invitational held at Bouckaert Farm in Fairburn, Georgia.
The Georgia Tech XC Invitational featured several competitive programs from around the region, including Albany State, Brenau, Carson-Newman, Clayton State, Columbus State, Covenant, Embry-Riddle, Emmanuel, Emory, Florida A&M, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Georgia Southwestern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, North Georgia, Piedmont, South Alabama, Troy, and UAB.
The Golden Tigers put forth a strong effort in the competitive field, with standout performances from both the men's and women's teams.
The Tuskegee men's team was led by Edgar Kosgei, who finished the 8k course in 29:00.87. He was closely followed by
Dennis Kibet, who crossed the line at 29:10.56?.
The men's team collectively finished in 13th place with a team score of 405 points, with additional contributions from
Jayden Davidson (30:34.69),
Austin Stokes (33:57.94), and
Aiden Bass (34:39.78). The team's average finishing time was 31:28.77.
On the women's side,
Anaya Martin led the Golden Tigers with a strong performance, finishing the 6k course in 24:32.46.
Anitria Sangster was the second-fastest runner for Tuskegee, completing the race in 26:12.37, followed by
Genesis Harrell (27:41.83),
Akierah Walker (27:52.79), and
Shalyah Tresvant (27:58.69).
The women's team finished in 17th place with 482 points and an average finishing time of 26:51.63?.

Tuskegee will now turn its focus to the Florida State Invite, the final regular season meet of the year. The meet will be held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
