TALLAHASSEE, Fla. __ Tuskegee University's cross country teams put in a solid performance at the Florida State XC Invitational held on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
Both the men's and women's teams competed against a strong field, showcasing their determination as they now turn their sights to the SIAC Cross Country Championships.
The Tuskegee men's team was led by
Edgar Kosgei, who finished the 8k race with a time of 29:06.0, followed close behind by
Dennis Kibet at 29:09.3.
The remaining runners for TU were
Jayden Davidson (30:18.5),
Aiden Bass (33:29.3),
Christian Sanders (33:32.3), and
Jaiden Turner (35:28.8).
On the women's side,
Anaya Martin continued her strong season, finishing the 5k race with a time of 19:59.2, setting a new personal best in a deep field. Meanwhile,
Anitria Sangster also new a new personal record with a time of 20:26.5.
The duo helped led the Tuskegee women's team to a 11th place finish overall with an average team time of 21:25.34.
Other contributors for the women's team included
Akierah Walker (21:53.3),
Shalyah Tresvant (22:42.5),
Eternity Bellamy (22:44.9), and
Serenity Mitchell (23:54.3).

Tuskegee will now focus on the postseason, as both teams prepare for the SIAC Cross Country Championships in Macon, Georgia at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course. The meet will be held on Wednesday, October 23, with teams competing at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. ET.
