MOBILE, Ala. | The first matches of the day of the SIAC Roundup battled the elements, finishing just before Mother Nature pushed the entire schedule back due to rain and lightning in the Mobile-area Thursday morning.
 
The Tuskegee women (8-3, 7-1 SIAC) won their sixth consecutive match with a 6-0 victory over Lane in the day's opening match. They were able to get wins at number three singles (Navilla Paul), number four singles (Kayla Triche) and number five singles (Kimberly Bowen) to seal the victory.
 
The team only needed two points in singles play after sweeping through doubles play winning all three matches by an identical 8-0 score. Tuskegee only lost one point during the day, and that came at number six singles.
 
Meanwhile, on the men's side, Tuskegee (3-9, 3-6 SIAC) only played two matches on the day due to injuries as they fell to Lane 7-1. The Golden Tigers won the only match that was played in doubles as the team of Oshane Trail and Brandon Sewell claimed an 8-1 victory over Lane's Jna Crawford and Carlos Moore. The only singles match of the day that involved a player from Tuskegee was not played due to the weather.
 
The roundup is currently in a weather delay and resume later today.
