TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University women's tennis team hits the court again Sunday morning, however, they will hit the road for the first time this season as they face Clark Atlanta University at 12 noon (est) on Sunday afternoon.
Tuskegee (0-1) fell to Montevallo to open the season, although they picked up a win in singles play by
Navilla Paul. The senior picked up the lone victory for Tuskegee at number four singles with a three-set victory over Montevallo's Julia Berg 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. Two other singles matches went straight sets in the favor of Montevallo, before the final three singles matches went into a pro set format.
In doubles play, the number team of
Reicia North and
Monica Thomas fell in a tough match at number one doubles. The duo fell 9-8, falling 7-4 in the tiebreaker, before Montevallo took the final two matches for the points.
North, the reigning SIAC Freshman and Player of the Year, will hit the court for the first time in conference play this season as she looks to continue her reign as the best in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
