TUSKEGEE, Ala. — Tuskegee men's tennis standout
Kevin Eutsey has been named the SIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday following the Golden Tigers' strong performance at the SIAC Round Up in Orlando, Florida.
Eutsey played a pivotal role in Tuskegee's 5-1 weekend at Sanlando Tennis Park, contributing key victories in both singles and doubles competition as the Golden Tigers secured multiple dominant wins against conference opponents.
Competing near the top of the lineup, Eutsey delivered consistent performances in singles play throughout the weekend, earning multiple victories that helped Tuskegee secure team points in several matchups. His ability to control rallies from the baseline and close out sets efficiently helped the Golden Tigers capture decisive wins against LeMoyne-Owen and Benedict, including two 7-0 sweeps on Friday.
In doubles competition, Eutsey teamed with
Ty'lon Miller to anchor the Golden Tigers on the No. 2 court, helping Tuskegee establish early momentum in several matches. The pair delivered strong performances that contributed to Tuskegee claiming the doubles point in multiple contests during the weekend.
Tuskegee opened the SIAC Round Up with a 7-0 victory over LeMoyne-Owen before falling to Spring Hill later in the day. The Golden Tigers rebounded Friday with consecutive 7-0 sweeps over Benedict and LeMoyne-Owen. Tuskegee closed the event Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Benedict before earning a dramatic 4-3 rematch win over Spring Hill to finish the weekend with five victories.
Eutsey's consistency throughout the lineup and ability to secure key points in both singles and doubles were instrumental in Tuskegee's success during the conference event.
Tuskegee will look to build on that momentum as the Golden Tigers continue SIAC competition later this season.
