ATLANTA, Ga. — Tuskegee women's track and field athletes Anaya Martin and Mia Lindsey have earned Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Weekly Honors following standout performances at the Falcon Classic, hosted by the University of Montevallo on March 13-14.
 
Martin was named SIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while Lindsey earned SIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week recognition after strong performances in the Golden Tigers' outdoor season opener.
 
Martin delivered an impressive showing in the distance events, highlighted by a first-place finish in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. The junior crossed the finish line in 12:13.70, leading a group of four Tuskegee runners in the event.
 
She also contributed another scoring performance in the 10,000 meters, finishing third overall with a time of 41:25.76. Martin's performances helped establish early momentum for Tuskegee's distance group while providing valuable points in the team standings.
Her strong start to the outdoor season highlighted both her endurance and competitiveness in the distance events.
 
Freshman Mia Lindsey turned in an outstanding debut in the multi-events, finishing second overall in the women's heptathlon with 3,715 points at the Falcon Classic.
 
Lindsey's performance led all Tuskegee competitors in the event and earned eight points toward the team standings. In addition to her work in the heptathlon, she also contributed on the track as a member of Tuskegee's 4x400-meter relay team, which finished third overall with a time of 4:07.94.
 
Her versatile performance across multiple events highlighted her ability to compete at a high level in both field and track disciplines during Tuskegee's outdoor season opener.
 
Tuskegee track and field will continue its outdoor schedule in the coming weeks as the Golden Tigers build momentum early in the season.
