ATLANTA, Ga. – Tuskegee standout track and field student-athlete
An'Janae Latchinson has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week following a remarkable performance at the Doc Anderson Invitational, hosted by Troy over the weekend.
Latchinson continued her dominant outdoor campaign with top-tier finishes in multiple events, showcasing her versatility and elite status across sprint and hurdle disciplines.
The sophomore finished second in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles, posting times that not only earned her podium finishes at the meet, but also placed her among the national leaders in NCAA Division II.
Her time of 13.97 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles currently ranks sixth nationally in NCAA Division II and 15th among all HBCU athletes.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Latchinson clocked a blazing 59.99 seconds, placing her fifth nationally in Division II and second among all HBCU hurdlers. Both times meet the NCAA Division II qualifying standards, solidifying her as a contender for postseason success.
In addition to her hurdle performances, Latchinson secured a third-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 24.59 seconds, just shy of her personal best and new school record. The time follows her appearance on the NCAA Division II National List for the event earlier this season.
Latchinson now holds the fastest times in the SIAC this season in all three events, the 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and 200 meters, highlighting her consistency and dominance in the conference.
Her performance played a significant role in Tuskegee's overall success at the Doc Anderson Invitational as the Golden Tigers continue their preparation for the upcoming SIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
