Four Golden Tigers Earn Preseason All-SIAC Softball Honors as Tuskegee Picked Second in West Division

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — Tuskegee softball placed four student-athletes on the SIAC Preseason All-Conference Team as announced by the league office, reinforcing the Golden Tigers' status as a top contender entering the 2026 season.

Sophomore Monica Rose earned Preseason First Team honors, while seniors Ava Meredith, Tamiya Martin, and Alarryn Beckley were named to the Second Team.

Rose returns following one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history. The sophomore utility player was named SIAC Freshman of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and a First Team All-SIAC selection in 2025 after playing a pivotal role in Tuskegee's 27-8 overall record and 20-2 mark in conference play.

In the circle, Rose posted a 15-4 record with a 2.61 ERA across 124.1 innings pitched, striking out 129 batters while limiting opponents to a .208 batting average. At the plate, she added depth as a two-way contributor, finishing with a .800 batting average in limited appearances and continuing to showcase her versatility. Her preseason first-team recognition reflects her impact on both sides of the ball and her importance to the Golden Tigers' championship aspirations.

Senior third baseman Ava Meredith earned Second Team preseason honors after serving as a steady presence in the lineup during the 2025 campaign. Meredith appeared in 32 games, posting a .296 batting average with 21 hits, five doubles, and two home runs while driving in 23 runs. Defensively, she handled the hot corner throughout the season, providing leadership and experience for a team that finished among the SIAC's top defensive units.

Senior outfielder Tamiya Martin also garnered Second Team recognition after contributing as both a defensive asset and a threat on the base paths. Martin appeared in 26 games, scoring 21 runs while adding 17 hits and continuing to apply pressure with her speed and athleticism in the outfield. Her range and versatility have made her a key component of Tuskegee's defensive alignment entering the new season.

Rounding out the preseason selections is senior utility player Alarryn Beckley, who makes her first appearance on an All-SIAC roster. Beckley appeared in 33 games in 2025, recording 25 hits and 25 RBIs while providing flexibility across multiple positions. Defensively, she posted a .949 fielding percentage, highlighting her reliability and value as a multi-position contributor.

In addition to the individual honors, Tuskegee was projected to finish second in the SIAC West Division preseason poll. Spring Hill was selected as the division favorite, followed by Tuskegee, Miles, Kentucky State, Lane, and LeMoyne-Owen. In the East Division, Edward Waters was picked to finish first, followed by Albany State, Fort Valley State, Savannah State, Clark Atlanta, Benedict, and Allen.

With four preseason All-SIAC selections and a strong conference projection, Tuskegee enters the 2026 season positioned to contend for a division title and build on last year's championship-caliber performance. The Golden Tigers will look to turn preseason recognition into sustained success when the season opens.
