ABOUT TUSKEGEE (0-0, 0-0 SIAC)
Tuskegee returns a balanced roster featuring 10 returning players and 10 newcomers, including five transfers who are expected to make an immediate impact. With added depth, athleticism, and experience, Perkins is confident the Golden Tigers are poised for significant growth this season.
"This team has worked extremely hard during the offseason," said Perkins. "We've focused on better ball control, faster tempo, and stronger execution. With our mix of returning veterans and talented newcomers, we're excited to showcase a fresh energy as we begin the 2025 season."
Tuskegee enters the season led by a strong returning core.
Lauren Canady returns as a versatile presence at the net after recording 167 kills,
121 digs, and 14 blocks, providing balance and consistency on both ends of the court.
Sian Sprinkle will also play a critical role after contributing 151 kills and 62 blocks in 2024, bringing length, energy, and defensive strength to the front line.
Veteran setter
Mikea Allen returns after recording 457 assists in 2024 and will lead a revamped offensive system designed to maximize Tuskegee's balanced scoring threats.
Defensively, Tuskegee will lean on returning libero
Chloe Edwards (113 digs) and others, as they look to improve on a team defense that averaged 13.2 digs per set in 2024.
SCOUTING STILLMAN (0-3, 0-0 HBCUAC)
Stillman enters Monday's matchup with an 0-3 record to open the season but boasts a talented roster led offensively by the trio of Ava Cameron (13 kills, .242 hitting percentage), Raine Patterson (12 kills, 7 blocks), and Katelyn Lawson (12 kills, 3 digs).
The Tigers will look to bounce back after early-season challenges, with an offense averaging just 7.2 kills per set and a defense anchored by Zoey Sales (21 digs).
After Monday's matchup, Tuskegee will hit the road for its next two games before their next home game on September 22. Building early-season chemistry and establishing consistency will be the Golden Tigers' primary focus as they look to improve upon last year's record and climb the conference standings.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Golden Tigers in their home opener. Tickets are available at the gate, and the match will also be streamed live on the Golden Tiger Sports Network.
