ATLANTA, Ga. – Tuskegee track and field returned to competition on Friday at the Georgia Tech Invitational, opening a highly competitive two-day meet at the George C. Griffin Track with several strong individual performances across both track and field events.
 
Facing a field of over 40 schools including NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA programs, the Golden Tigers continued to build momentum in their fourth outdoor meet of the 2025 season.
 
In field events, 
Danielle Wilson opened the day for the women with a solid effort in the hammer throw, placing 30th with a toss of 39.80 meters.
 
Wilson returned later in the day alongside 
Serenity Mitchell in the javelin throw, where Mitchell led the team with a 20th-place finish (30.36m), followed closely by Wilson in 21st (30.04m).
 
On the men's side, 
Drake Hudson and 
KeyWun Rowles both recorded top-20 finishes in the javelin, finishing 19th (45.89m) and 20th (44.68m) respectively.
 
The women's sprint squad delivered a busy afternoon led by 
An'Janae Latchinson, who ran the 100m dash with a time of 12.15 seconds. She also posted a strong showing in the 100m hurdles, finishing in 14.34 seconds.
 
Teammate 
Jahkaya McBurney finished the event at 14.80, followed by 
Asia Nettles who crossed the line at 17.85.
 
In the 100m dash, 
Nadia Jones clocked 12.79, 
Amira Broussard ran 12.81, and Mitchell rounded out the group at 13.39.
 
De'Shell Carr added to the women's efforts in the field with a 28th-place finish in the long jump, continuing her steady progress this season.
 
On the men's side, 
Justice Northern led a large Golden Tiger contingent in the 100m dash, finishing with a time of 10.85 seconds.
 
Shawn Jarrett II finished next at 11.19, followed by 
Lamont Brinson (11.30), 
Jackson Murry (11.36), 
Xavier Campbell (11.41), and 
Jamarqus Jones (11.42), all within a tight range as they look to sharpen sprint form heading into conference competition.
