Men’s Tennis Rolls Past Benedict to Advance to SIAC Championship Final

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — The No. 2 seed Tuskegee University men's tennis team delivered a commanding performance on Friday morning at the Peachtree City Tennis Center, defeating No. 3 seed Benedict by a score of 4-0 in the semifinal round of the 2025 Cricket SIAC Men's Tennis Championship.

With the win, the Golden Tigers advance to the SIAC Championship match on Saturday and improve to 10-7 overall and 8-2 in SIAC play, while Benedict falls to 6-10 overall and 6-4 in league action.

Tuskegee jumped out to an early advantage by securing the doubles point in dominant fashion.

The tandem of Tyler Ladge and Eliyahu Pinkney made quick work of their opponents on court two, rolling to a 6-0 shutout over Gavin Browne and Ladarius Johnson.

On court three, the duo of Symon Brown and Zamani Moyo clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Divgurjot Singh and Anesu Kwirirai, showcasing strong chemistry and aggressive net play.

The top doubles match, featuring Kevin Eutsey and Miles Wilson against Jason Chigaazira and Munache Marume, was tied 4-4 before it was abandoned following Tuskegee's doubles point clinch.

In singles, the Golden Tigers kept the pressure on, capturing three straight matches in dominant fashion to seal the victory.

Ty'lon Miller set the tone on court six with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 win over Johnson, giving Tuskegee a 2-0 lead. Moments later, Tyler Ladge finished off Browne on court two with a crisp 6-4, 6-1 decision, using smart shot placement and consistent baseline play.

The clinching point came on court four, where Wilson rallied from a first-set loss to defeat Munache Marume in three sets, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.

Wilson's second-set bagel turned the match's momentum, and he closed it out with authority in the third, sending Tuskegee to the conference title match for the second time in three seasons.

The remaining matches were halted once Tuskegee reached four points, but several Golden Tigers were in strong positions to add to the tally.

On court one, Zamani Moyo had split sets with Divgurjot Singh and trailed 1-4 in the third.

On court three, Kevin Eutsey was leading Anesu Kwirirai 6-2, 5-4, and Torain Alleyne had split sets with Jason Chigaazira on court five and was up 1-0 in the third set tiebreaker.

The victory marks another step forward for head coach Gregory Green's squad, which has leaned on a mix of experienced upperclassmen and surging underclassmen throughout the season.
