Preview: Softball Heads to Tennessee for SIAC Road Series Against LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tuskegee softball team will look to build on its strong start to the 2025 season when it travels to Tennessee to take on LeMoyne-Owen for a three-game SIAC series.
 
The series begins with a Friday doubleheader at 2 p.m. and wraps up with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The Golden Tigers enter the weekend at 17-4 overall and 12-1 in SIAC play, sitting atop the conference standings with one of the league's most balanced and efficient rosters.
 
LeMoyne-Owen, meanwhile, is 4-13 on the year and 3-10 in league action, seeking to gain momentum during the middle portion of the season.
 
ABOUT TUSKEGEE (17-4, 12-1 SIAC)
Tuskegee's offense continues to be one of the most productive in the conference, averaging over seven runs per game with a team batting average of .337.
 
Caroline Clark leads the way with a blistering .619 average and a .692 on-base percentage through 11 games.
 
Alexis Thompson adds power and consistency, batting .434 with seven doubles, three home runs, and 26 RBIs.
 
Shanna McNair (.419), Carole Ross (.325), and Ava Mearideth (.319) round out a dangerous lineup that has tallied 146 RBIs, 243 total bases, and 50 stolen bases as a team.
 
The Tuskegee pitching staff has been equally dominant, with a combined ERA of 2.45 through 21 games.
 
Kamya Hampton leads the way in the circle with an 8-2 record and a 1.99 ERA, striking out 49 in 56.1 innings while allowing opponents to hit just .232.
 
Monica Rose also owns an 8-2 record, appearing in 12 games with a 2.87 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 68.1 innings.
 
As a staff, the Golden Tigers have allowed just four home runs all season while holding opponents to a .236 batting average.
 
Defensively, Tuskegee holds a .923 team fielding percentage and has limited opponents to just 28 stolen bases in 30 attempts, with strong play behind the plate from Kaeley Roldan and the infield anchored by Thompson, Ross, and Morales.
 
ABOUT LEMOYNE-OWEN (4-13, 3-10 SIAC)
LeMoyne-Owen enters the series with a .262 team batting average and 50 RBIs across 17 games.
 
Kelby Harvey has been the Lady Magicians' top hitter, batting .452 with three doubles and a home run in 10 games.
 
Ziay Graves (.343), Jaci Joiner (.333), and Khaylani Bailey (.286) provide additional production, while Graves leads the team with 11 RBIs. The Lady Magicians have stolen 23 bases in 27 attempts and drawn 53 walks.
 
On the mound, LeMoyne-Owen carries a team ERA of 6.26.
 
Bailey (0-5, 4.64 ERA) and Cailey Robbins (1-2, 5.67 ERA) have handled the bulk of the pitching duties, combining for over 49 innings and 19 strikeouts.
 
Defensively, the team has struggled at times, posting a .911 fielding percentage and committing 32 errors.
