Tuskegee’s LaShaunda Easterling Named USTFCCCA 2025 DII Indoor Track & Field South Region Coach of the Year

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee University head women's track and field coach LaShaunda Easterling has been named the 2025 USTFCCCA Division II Indoor Track & Field South Region Coach of the Year, the organization announced over the weekend.

Easterling, now in her fourth season at the helm of the Golden Tigers program, earned the prestigious honor after leading Tuskegee's women's track to a dominant victory at the 2025 Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Golden Tigers captured the inaugural indoor conference title in convincing fashion, winning multiple events and amassing 242.5 points, finishing 113.5 points ahead of the Benedict, the nearest team.

Under Easterling's leadership, Tuskegee's women's team showcased excellence across sprints, distance, and field events, while displaying depth, consistency, and championship focus throughout the indoor season.

Her athletes not only excelled individually, but also embodied the team-first mentality Easterling has instilled since taking over the program.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognizes top coaches in each region of the country based on team success, improvement from previous seasons, and contributions to the program.

Easterling's latest honor further solidifies her growing legacy as one of the top coaches in Division II and continues the momentum for Tuskegee Track & Field as they continue their 2025 outdoor campaign.
