TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The Tuskegee men's tennis team is set to travel to Livingston, Alabama, to take on West Alabama in a non-conference matchup on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.

The Golden Tigers, currently 0-1 on the season, are looking to bounce back after a narrow 4-3 loss to Mobile in their season opener.

West Alabama enters the match at 1-1 after splitting its opening matches, falling 5-2 to Alabama State and sweeping Spring Hill 7-0.

Tuskegee showcased strong individual performances in its opening match against Mobile, with standout wins in singles play.

Kevin Eutsey secured a victory at the No. 2 singles position, Tyler Ladge delivered a win at No. 6 singles, and Zamani Moyo dominated at No. 1 singles, demonstrating the depth of talent on the Golden Tigers' roster.

Overall, the team finished 3-3 in singles play but struggled in doubles competition, going 0-3. The doubles pairing of Eutsey and Ty'lon Miller at the No. 2 spot, as well as Torain Alleyne and Moyo at No. 1, will aim to find rhythm and improve their performance against a competitive West Alabama team.

Tuskegee's success this season will rely on building consistency in doubles play and leveraging the strengths of its singles lineup. Players like Eutsey, Moyo, and Ladge have shown potential to anchor the team's efforts, and their experience will be critical in this upcoming matchup.

West Alabama comes into the match with a balanced record, demonstrating both strength and areas for improvement in its early-season contests. The Tigers dropped their season opener to Alabama State by a score of 5-2 but rebounded with a commanding 7-0 victory over Spring Hill.

In singles play, Federico Iturbe and Vilislav Bonev remain unbeaten in dual matches, holding 1-0 records, while Tomas Almeida and Eita Ishikawa look to rebound after tough losses. West Alabama's doubles teams have struggled to find traction, going 0-2 against Alabama State but improving to sweep doubles play against Spring Hill.

Key players for West Alabama include Bonev, who has showcased consistency and a strong baseline game, and Iturbe, whose all-around skills have been crucial in singles and doubles. West Alabama's doubles teams, led by Caden Goldammer and Ishikawa at the No. 3 spot, will aim to capitalize on their recent success to secure an early advantage in the match.
