TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee volleyball suffered its first home defeat of the 2025 season on Wednesday evening, falling 3–0 (22–25, 15–25, 12–25) to SIAC leader Spring Hill inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.
The loss moves the Golden Tigers to 10-9 overall and 4-8 in SIAC play, while Spring Hill improves to 16-5 and 12-0 in the SIAC.
Tuskegee came out strong in the opening set, matching the defending conference champions point for point in a frame that featured eight ties and four lead changes.
The Golden Tigers built an 18-14 lead midway the set, before Spring Hill responded with a 6–1 run to start to take control and close out the set 25-22.
The Badgers carried that momentum into the next two frames, using an efficient attack and tough serving to limit Tuskegee's offensive rhythm. Spring Hill hit .593 in the second set and .355 overall for the match, while Tuskegee was held to .170 as a team.
Najwa Williams led the Golden Tigers with 11 kills on .417 hitting, while
Zariah Messick added seven kills and eight digs.
Sahnee Dillahunt-Nedd and
Mikea Allen combined for 27 assists, with Dillahunt-Nedd contributing the team's lone service ace.
Jasmine Brantley paced the defense with 15 digs, while
Gabriella Jones and
Sian Sprinkle combined for five blocks at the net.
Tuskegee will return to action next week with a non-conference home game against Oakwood on Tuesday, October 21 at 6 p.m., before continuing SIAC competition.
