Preview: Men’s Tennis to Host Mobile in Spring Opener

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee men's tennis will open their 2025 spring season at home against the University of Mobile on Saturday, February 1, at 1:00 p.m. at the PepsiCo Tennis Courts.

The Golden Tigers are coming off a strong 2023 campaign in which they finished with an overall record of 12-9, including a 9-3 mark in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). They ended the season with a semifinal finish in the SIAC Tennis Championships, showcasing their competitive drive and strong team performance throughout the year.

Tuskegee returns a group that combined for xx total wins last season, including a mark of 45-13 in the SIAC. The team's top returners from last season include the likes of junior Ty'lon Miller who had a team-high nine wins last season with a 6-2 conference record.

Fellow returners Zamani Moyo and Jack Shaw both won six matches and combined for a 10-1 SIAC record, while Torain Alleyne and Eliyahu Pinkney both finished with five wins, and a combined 7-3 mark in the SIAC in 2024.

Tuskegee's experience will be essential as they aim for another strong performance in both SIAC play and their non-conference matchups.

Mobile, their season-opening opponent, comes off an equally impressive 2024 season where they finished with an 18-4 record.

The Rams dominated at home, going 7-0, and had a notable run at the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship, where they were eliminated in the second round by Georgia Gwinnett College, the eventual national champions.

Mobile's Martin Jeanne, a SSAC First-Team All-Conference performer, returns to lead the Rams and will be a key player for Tuskegee to focus on in their opener.

With a solid mix of veterans and rising stars, Mobile will bring a tough challenge for Tuskegee as both teams prepare for what is expected to be a highly competitive match.

Tuskegee will look to start their season with positive momentum as they begin their quest for a strong season, aiming to advance further into the SIAC Tournament and build on their established legacy in collegiate tennis.
