TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee volleyball team will follow up the season-opening win against Stillman with a trip east to LaGrange on Saturday for a tri-match where they will face Tennessee Wesleyan at 2:30 p.m. ET and the host Panthers at 5 p.m. ET inside of Richter Gym.

ABOUT TUSKEGEE (1-0)
In their home opener, the Golden Tigers demonstrated both resilience and teamwork, overcoming a determined Stillman side in four sets (25-20, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21). Senior middle blocker
Ma'kayla Jones was a standout performer, finishing with a double-double leading the attack with a team-high 12 kills and 15.5 total points, while outside hitter
Moriah Seay recorded her first double-double of 2024 with 11 kills and 21 digs.

Kiana Wilcher played a critical role in defensive transitions, recording a team-high 24 digs, while
Chloe Edwards added ten.
The Golden Tigers' season-opener saw a total of 41 kills as Tuskegee's offense executed efficiently, thanks to 47 combined assists from juniors
Mikea Allen and
Amara Dotson along with sharp serve-receive play from the back row. Defensively, the Tigers tallied 46 total digs, which allowed them to control the tempo of the match, especially in the critical fourth set where they sealed the victory.
With their first victory behind them, the Golden Tigers are approaching this tri-match with a mix of confidence and determination. Their early-season schedule will give them valuable experience as they look to position themselves for a strong campaign.
ABOUT TENNESSEE WESLEYAN (1-7)
The Bulldogs are led by Kylie Whaley in her third season at the helm. The team started its season at the Milligan Mountain Madness, before splitting their last two matches with a win against Georgetown College and loss at the hands of Keiser.
Offensively, Shante Smith, Amya Sutton, and Alley Hibdon are the top performers so far with 56, 46, and 44 kills, respectively. Meanwhile, junior Megan Thompson is the only player with over 100 digs a so far, currently at 116, while the team has a total of 20 blocks on the season.
ABOUT LAGRANGE (2-0)
LaGrange opened the season with two wins at its first home tri-match of the year, after defeating Pensacola Christian, 3-0, and Middle Georgia State, 3-2.
Ella Kahikina and Zentrina Choice lead the Panthers with 39 and 26 kills, respectively. Julia Damico and Rebecca Miranda have combined for 73 assists to go along with seven kills and an ace. Emma Cempbell and Damico add 38 and 31 digs respectively on the defensive side, while four Panthers have combined for six blocks in two matches.
