TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee women's tennis swept all six singles matches in route to a 6-1 home victory over SIAC opponent Spring Hill on Thursday afternoon at the Pepsico Tennis Courts.
Taylor Ford and
Dayna Jackson continued their strong play in doubles play, claiming a 7-6 win at No. 2, making them 9-3 overall on the season. They were the only duo to win for the Tuskegee (10-4) as TU dropped the doubles point to the Badgers.
The Golden Tigers would need a comeback in singles, and they got it with all six victories on the courts. Ford got the ball rolling, defeating her opponent in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) at No. 1, while
Jamiya Ivory also won at No. 3 in three sets (3-6, 7-6, 10-8).
Helping TU take a 3-1 lead was Kaome Tanyaradzwa who took a 6-4, 6-0 win at court two.
just five games in a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Zoe Adkins at the top spot. The lead expanded thanks to
Dayna Jackson who defeated her pairing on court four with a 6-4, 6-2 win.
Devynn Jackson and
Chloe Griffin-Harrington finished off the match with wins on courts five and six respectively, with Jackson taking a 6-4, 6-1 win, followed by Griffin-Harrington with a 6-2, 6-3 win.
