TUSKEGEE, Ala. ^__ The Tuskegee softball team opens Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play with a three-game home series against Spring Hill at the TU Softball Field this weekend.

Tuskegee is 8-13 this season and coming off doubleheader loss in a midweek non-conference contest at Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday. Aaliyah Byrd and T'yauna Rector led the Golden Tigers at the plate on the day, both going 2-for-3, while Rector added a run batted in.

On the season, infielder Jessica Morales has started the season strong, starting all 21 games so far and leading the team with a .306 batting average, 19 hits, 14 runs, and a perfect 14-for-14 on stolen bases.
 
Teammates Jada Chadwick and Rector have also had strong starts, as Chadwick bats .291 in 20 games with 16 hits, 20 RBI, and eight runs scored, followed by Rector at .288 with 17 hits, 12 runs scored and four RBI.
 
Through 21 games this season, the Golden Tigers have totaled 87 runs and totaled 133 hits, 21 doubles, and six home runs. In the circle, the Tuskegee holds a 4.31 team ERA and 1.72 WHIP with 76 strikeouts and 173 hits allowed this season while walking 56 batters.

Kamya Hampton leads Tuskegee in innings pitched (75.0) and strikeouts (57) this season while owning a 3.73 ERA and 1.68 WHIP. She has a 7-4 record with six complete games this season.

The Badgers are 1-11 this season, coming off a 4-1 loss to No. 13 West Alabama in Mobile. 
As a team, Spring Hill is batting .188 with 60 hits, five doubles, four home runs, 34 RBI, and 38 runs scored this season.

Airyonna Weaver leads the Badgers with a .325 batting average, including 13 hits, two doubles, one home run, eight RBI and six runs scored. In the circle, Spring Hill holds a 5.08 team ERA in 84 innings pitched.
