Preview: Tennis at SIAC Round-Up

TUSKEGEE __ The Tuskegee Tennis teams will travel back down south to Mobile this week to compete in the second Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Round up of the season, facing eight league opponents over the next four days at the Gerald L. Wallace Tennis Center on the campus of Spring Hill.

Tuskegee reached the double-digit win mark for the second consecutive season after March home wins over conference opponent Spring Hill and LaGrange, winning by scores of 6-1 and 7-0, respectively.

The Golden Tigers were dominant in their last win, a sweep over LaGrange, taking the doubles point and then reeling off five decisive victories in singles to shut out the Panthers. 
 
Taylor Ford provided one of those points in singles, improving to team-leading 10-3 while extending her winning streak to two matches. Chloe Griffin-Harrington and Dayna Jackson are both 7-2 on the year, while Jamiya Ivory, Devynn Jackson, and Tanyaradzwa Kaome all have six wins. 

Ford is also part of the best doubles pairing along with Dayna Jackson at 9-3, while two other pairings have four wins, and one has three.

The men's side has won five of its last eight matches this spring, however swept LaGrange at home on March 16 after dropping the previous match to Mobile. The sweep against LaGrange came in dominant fashion, as all six single wins came in straight sets, along with taking the doubles point.

The Golden Tigers are a combined 32-32 in dual singles, anchored by the trio of Ty'lon Miller, Zamani Moyo, and Teryon Newbold-Hudson, who all have five wins on the year. In dual doubles, they are a combined 11-18 with each line producing at three four victories.
