HOOVER, Ala. __ Tuskegee softball ended Wednesday with a 1-1 mark on day two of the SIAC Crossover, defeating Clark Atlanta in walk-off fashion, 4-3, before falling to Fort Valley State 5-1 at the Hoover Met Complex.

Tuskegee took its first game of the day in a seventh inning comeback, as
Victoria Harrison drove home
Aaliyah Byrd with an RBI single to take the 4-3 win.
Clark Atlanta jumped out to the lead in the top of the first, scoring all three runs in the opening frame. The first run was scored on a throwing error from TU, while the next two were earned after a two-run home run to center field to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead.
Tuskegee got on the board in the bottom of the second, as
Caroline Clark drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center, while the team added another two runs to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth after three scoreless innings. Thompson drove in a run with a double to left field for the first run, followed by a score from pinch runner
Payton Dunham on an error.
Harrison lead TU at the plate, going 2-for-4, scoring a run and driving home a run. She was followed by Chadwick and Thompson who both earned a hit and drove in a run as well in the win.
Fort Valley State 5, Tuskegee 1
Offense was scarce for the Golden Tigers in their second game, scoring just one run in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single from
Jada Chadwick, scoring Harrison.
Fort Valley State took an early 3-0 lead after the first on three hits, while leaving one on base. The Wildcats earned a pair of RBI doubles, both to left center to take the early advantage.
FVSU added a run in both the second and third innings on just two combined hits but held Tuskegee scoreless after the fourth to claim the 5-1 win.
TU finished the game with seven hits, with two coming from both Chadwick and
T'yauna Rector. Meanwhile, Clark took the loss in the circle, while all three pitchers made an appearance. Clark worked 1.1 innings, while
Katie Harris and Hampton both pitched for 2.1 innings in the loss.
