MOBILE, Ala. – Tuskegee women's tennis earned its first two sweeps of the early season to start the SIAC Round-up, defeating LeMoyne-Owen and Fort Valley State by a final score of 7-0 on Thursday at the Gerald L. Wallace Tennis Center.
Tuskegee (2-2) started the day by taking all three doubles courts, getting wins of 6-0 (
Dayna Jackson/
Taylor Ford) at No. 1, 6-1 (
Jamiya Ivory/
Chloe Griffin-Harrington) at No. 2,
and 6-0 (
Barbara Phillips/Gabrielle Geary) at No. 3.
The dominance continued in singles as
Tanyaradzwa Kaome, Geary, Ivory, and
Maud Tsaura each did not surrender a single game, winning 6-0, 6-0 on courts one, four, five, and six, respectively.
Against the Wildcats, the Golden Tigers again dominated the competition, taking the doubles point by scores of 6-2 (
Devynn Jackson/Kaome) at No. 1, along with 6-0 wins at No. 2 (Jackson/Ford) and No. 3 (Geary/Phillips) for the point.
