Mobile, Ala. – Tuskegee women's tennis had another strong showing in a road match against Spring Hill, defeating the Badgers by a final score of 6-1 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) at the Gerald L. Wallace Tennis Center.
Tuskegee (9-2, 8-0 SIAC) earned a dominant win by sweeping the three doubles matches and claiming five of the six singles courts.
All three duos produced victories in doubles play, as the tandem of last week's SIAC Player of the Week,
Taylor Ford, and
Dayna Jackson notched the first victory by a score of 6-3 on court two.
Next was
Chloe Griffin-Harrington and her partner
Barbara Phillips to clinch the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court three. Then came the sweep with another 6-3 victory on court one by
Tanyaradzwa Kaome and
Devynn Jackson.
The singles wins then came one after the other, starting with Ford downing Emma Koch by a score of 6-4, 6-1, followed by Kaome who took a 6-2, 6-2 win over her pairing at court two.
The lone singles win for Spring Hill was at court three as
Jamiya Ivory fell to Brooke Powers in straight sets at 6-3, 6-3. The clinching point came from the No. 4 position where Da. Jackson swept Romina Kroemer 6-1, 6-1. Insurance points came from courts five and six, where De. Jackson was too much for Emma Pager (6-1, 6-3), followed at the end by a 6-1, 6-0 win from Griffin-Harrington to close the match.
