BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the 86th time in one of the longest-running NCAA Division II classics in the nation, the annual Morehouse-Tuskegee Classic will be held on Saturday, October 8 at Legion Field in Birmingham. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The two programs have met 111 total times, starting in 1902 as an entertainment event for the African American civilian community and U.S. Army soldiers in the Columbus-Fort Benning and Phenix City areas. Tuskegee took the first matchup 5-0.
While the series has primarily been played in Columbus, the game was recently moved to Birmingham to continue the rivalry. The Golden Tigers lead the all-time series 73-30-7 record but have split the last four meetings dating back to 2017. Tuskegee has a pair of nine-game win streaks in the series (1924-33, 1973-81), while the longest streak for Morehouse is four games from 1906-10.

GAME NOTES
- The Tuskegee Golden Tigers made an appearance in the BOXTOROW HBCU Division II Coaches Poll at No. 9, announced Tuesday, marking the first time being in the top ten in the poll this season for the program. The ranking comes after a double overtime win for Tuskegee over Clark Atlanta that extends their win streak to three games.
- Arnes Huskic (Jacksonville, Ala.) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Football Special Teams Player of the week for the second time this season, announced by the conference on Monday. He went perfect on the day against the Panthers, going 3-for-3 on field goals of 29, 25, and 24 yards respectively. The senior also made all four of his point after attempts in the win.
- Tuskegee exploded on the offensive side of the ball against Clark Atlanta, with junior Malik Davis (Apopka, Fla.) earning the start after finishing the previous game. The Golden Tigers finished with a season-high 578 total yards of offense in the win, including 362 rushing and 216 passing, also both season-highs. Davis led eight scoring drives on the day and finished 17-for-27 and two scores through the air along with eight rushes for 34 yards on the ground.
- Running back Taurean Taylor (Scottdale, Ga.) had a career day against Clark Atlanta and his former head coach. The senior finished the day with 218 yards on the ground on 26 carries and a touchdown in the win. On the season, Taylor is the leading rusher for the Golden Tigers despite playing in just three games, accounting for 348 yards on 46 carries so far, 116 yards per contest.
- Both Taylor and Donte Edwards (Mobile, Ala.) crossed the 100- yard rushing plateau last weekend against Clark Atlanta, with Edwards rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, good for 6.5 yards per rush, along with Taylor's big game.
