Quarterback Bryson McGrew and kicker Lorcan Ryans were named Players of the Week by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for their performances in Tuskegee's 24-23 win over Fort Valley State in the Port City Classic.

McGrew, a sophomore from Montgomery, Ala., was named Offensive Player of the Week. He came off the bench to throw for 171 yards and three touchdowns - all in the second half - after the Golden Tigers failed to make it into the end zone in the first half. His touchdown throws were for 52, 74, and 39 yards as Tuskegee erased a double-digit deficit in the second half.

Ryans, a senior from Limerick, Ireland, made all three of his extra points and booted a 35-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to finish the dramatic comeback for the Golden Tigers over the Wildcats.

McGrew, Ryans and the Golden Tigers are back in action on Sept. 19 as they travel to face Jackson State in the W.C. Gorden Classic.
