Lawrence earns SIAC Softball Player of the Week honors

Box Score The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has named Jasmyne Lawrence as its Softball Player of the Week. The announcement out of Atlanta was made on Monday. Today marks the second time in her career she has been recognized by the league office

In game one against rival Miles College, Lawrence doubled to left center for a walk-off game winner in the eighth inning for a 6-5 victory. She was 2-of-5, scoring one run along with an RBI. In game two, she notched another hit and scored two more runs to cap off the afternoon in a 6-3 win.
 
The sophomore outfielder helped Tuskegee pick up its seventh victory over the last nine meetings against the Golden Bears with a pair of doubleheader wins over the weekend. As a result, the Golden Tigers are now riding the wave of a five-game winning streak.
 
The Golden Tigers will end the regular season over the next two days with a three-game set at LeMoyne Owen College. The make-up series features a double-header Tuesday at 1 p.m. and a single game Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
