JONESBORO, Ga. | The Tuskegee University men's tennis season came to a close with a fourth-place finish at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Tennis Championships, falling to Stillman 5-0 at the Clayton County International Tennis Complex Saturday morning.
Entering doubles play down 3-0 – with defaults at number three doubles, and numbers five and six singles – the Golden Tigers needed to win both doubles matches to extend the match.
Both doubles teams fell behind early but battled back late in the matches.
At number one doubles, the team of
Oshane Trail and
Brandon Sewell fell behind 7-1 before coming back to win consecutive points to pull to within 7-3, before Stillman was able to break through and win the match. At number two doubles, the team of
Reggie Richardson and
Jalen Law fell behind but battled back to pull within 7-5; however Stillman won the last point on their serve to win the match 8-5.
Tuskegee finishes the season 3-15 overall, and finished the conference season 3-9.
