TUSKEGEE, Ala. | After winning back-to-back games and opening the conference season winning their first series, the Tuskegee University softball team hits the road again on Tuesday heading north to face third-ranked Alabama-Huntsville.
The doubleheader is scheduled for first pitch at 2 pm.
Tuskegee (2-18, 2-1 SIAC) will face their third this season, falling to sixth-ranked North Alabama and eighth-ranked Georgia College. They have also faced two other teams, West Florida and Young Harris, who are receiving votes in the latest NFCA Top 25 poll.
The Lady Golden Tigers and Alabama-Huntsville (21-3, 11-1) are no strangers, as they have met seven times in the last years and all but one game has been played in Huntsville. The two teams have met four times in the regular season, and three times in regional play with Tuskegee upsetting top-seeded UAH in 2014. However, the Lady Chargers have ended the season for Tuskegee the last two years in regional play.
The two have played four of the same opponents this season – Flagler, Lee, North Alabama and West Georgia – with different results. The Lady Golden Tigers have a combined record of 0-8 against the four (including four games against Flagler), while Alabama-Huntsville is a combined 9-1 against the same four teams.
Tuskegee is coming off of a weekend in which they collected 21 hits in game two of the series en route to a 14-1 victory over Stillman, and followed that up with a 10-inning affair that ended in a 6-5 victory for Tuskegee.
