TUSKEGEE, Ala. | For the first time this season, the Tuskegee University softball team will take the field in familiar territory as they face Flagler College in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon in their first home game of 2016.

The doubleheader at the Tuskegee University Softball Complex is scheduled to begin at 12 noon, with the second game slated for 2:00 pm.

Tuskegee (0-15) and Flagler have met two times already this season, with the Lady Saints coming out on top in both of the matchups. Flagler won the first game 12-1 at the D2 Gulf Coast Invitational to start the season, and won 7-4 last weekend at the Flagler Invitational.

Although, the Lady Golden Tigers have not gotten a win in the first month of the season, they have made strides in the last six games. In those games, Tuskegee has lost by an average of just 1.3 runs per game – which included a nine-inning affair against Eckerd last weekend at the Flagler Invitational.

This season, Tuskegee has faced many teams who will contend for their conference championship in the Peach Belt, Gulf South and SAC – which include a game against ninth-ranked Georgia College.

The combined record of Tuskegee opponents this year is 115-59-1.

Freshman
Sharde Thomas leads Tuskegee in hitting, as she has recorded a .429 average with nine hits and five runs scored. Fellow freshman
Roneshia Rudolph is second the team in hitting at .348 with eight hits and a pair of runs batted in 11 games started.

Adrienne Eaddy is hitting .279 this season, while freshman
Kaylin Finch has a .273 average with 12 hits. She has a double, homerun and seven runs batted in.
Jamaica Williams and
Cari Driver have each recorded a homerun this season for Tuskegee.

On the mound, senior
Karisa Foye (0-2) has recorded a 4.20 earned run average in three appearances that include two starts.
Toni Beth Garner (0-5) has a 6.45 earned run average in 33.2 innings pitched, including three complete games; while
Acey Spence and Finch have each started multiple games for the Lady Golden Tigers.

The games on Sunday will be the final non-conference games of February, and the last before facing Stillman to open conference play next weekend in Tuscaloosa.
