Tuskegee wins two matches late Thursday

Tennis sweeps Lane at SIAC Crossover

MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The Tuskegee University tennis programs picked up a couple of victories at the SIAC Crossover held here late Thursday, defeating Lane College.

The Tuskegee men picked up their first victory of the season, defeating the Dragons 7-2 - with their only losses coming at defaults at number three doubles and number six singles. The Golden Tigers won two of three doubles points, including the team of Oshane Trail and Reggie Richardson winning 8-0 at number. The number two doubles team of Brandon Sewell and Michael Graham also picked up an 8-0 victory at number two doubles.

In singles play, the Golden Tigers swept through all five matches, dropping just 17 poins in the process. Trail picked up his first victory of the season over Artreio Robertson at number one 6-1, 6-4; while the other five matches combined gave up only 12 points combined.

Meanwhile, on the women's side, the Tuskegee women claimed a default victory over Lane College in the final match of the day.

The teams are action again today with three matches in Memphis.
