TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University softball team returns to action Saturday in the Cougar Classic, hosted by Columbus State University.
Tuskegee (0-7) will face Lincoln Memorial at 12 noon, before facing ninth-ranked Georgia College at 2 pm.
The Lady Golden Tigers will hand the ball to senior
Karisa Foye for the first time this season on the mound in game one. The senior, who was granted an extra of eligibility by the NCAA, came out of the bullpen on Wednesday in her first action of the season.
Junior
Tori Beth Garner (0-2) will likely get the start in game two as she has recorded an 8.33 earned run average in 19.1 innings of work this season.
Offensively, Tuskegee is led by
Jasmine Howard who is hitting .375 in four starts; while junior college transfer
Jamaica Williams is hitting .316 with a homerun and four runs batted in for Tuskegee. Senior
Adrienne Eaddy has hit .333 through seven games this season with a pair of runs scored and runs batted in.
The Lady Golden Tigers have scored just 12 runs this season, but picked up 17 hits in a pair of games at the D2 Gulf Coast Invitational last weekend against Lee (Tenn.) and Flagler and scored six runs in the pair of games.
Williams and Eaddy each have six hits each this season for Tuskegee through seven games, while freshman
Kaylin Finch and senior
Kenyah Smith each have four.
