Two Tuskegee student-athletes were honored by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for their performances last week for the Golden Tigers volleyball team. Carmyn Lawson was named Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week and Sakiah Logan was named Defensive Player of the Week as announced today by the league office.

Lawson, a sophomore from Forney, Tex., hit .255 with 40 kills, four assists, three service aces, and four blocks as Tuskegee went 3-1 last week. She had a double-double (11 kills, 22 digs) in a straight-set win over Clark Atlanta. In a victory over Huston-Tillotson, she had 13 kills and hit .444 to go along with two blocks in another three-set victory.
 
Logan, a junior from Sachse, Tex. averaged 5.0 digs per set for the Golden Tigers. Overall, she had 60 digs, 13 assists and seven service aces for Tuskegee, including 20 digs in a close three-set loss to Livingstone.

Lawson, Logan and the Golden Tigers are back in action tonight against Stillman. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
