ATLANTA, Ga. — Tuskegee University track and field standouts Isaiah Simms and Brent Priester have been recognized by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) for their outstanding performances, earning Track Athlete of the Week and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively.
Simms delivered a dominant weekend in the distance events at the Morehouse Relays, capturing first place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:50.54 before adding another victory in the 5000 meters in 16:04.03.
He also competed in the 1500 meters, posting a time of 4:14.80. Simms' pair of event wins and strong range across distance races highlighted one of the top overall performances in the conference.
Priester turned in an impressive showing in the jumps, winning the triple jump with a mark of 14.49 meters (47-6.5). He also placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.72 meters (22-0.75), demonstrating consistency and versatility across multiple events.
His performance secured a key victory for the Golden Tigers and contributed to Tuskegee's strong showing at the meet.
Tuskegee continues to build momentum during the outdoor season, with both athletes playing key roles in the team's success as the Golden Tigers prepare for upcoming competitions.
