COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Tuskegee men's track and field team delivered a strong showing at the 2025 SIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing fifth overall after three days of competition at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track in Columbia, South Carolina.
Leading the way for the Golden Tigers was standout sprinter
Shawn Jarrett II, who claimed the conference title in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.09 seconds.
Jarrett also competed in the men's 400 meters, where he placed 13th with a time of 49.02 seconds, and anchored both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Justice Northern, Jarrett,
Ethan Zagore Jr., and
Jamarqus Jones turned in a strong performance to place fourth overall with a time of 3:15.26, while the 4x100-meter relay team of Jarrett, Northern,
Javonte Andrews, and Zagore Jr. placed 10th with a time of 42.00 seconds.
In the field events,
Jackson Murry captured the SIAC title in the men's pole vault after clearing a height of 3.90 meters. Murry also finished sixth in the decathlon with 5,396 points and competed in the men's 400 meters, placing 24th.
Christian Goode contributed with a second-place finish in the pole vault (4.05 meters), while
Aiden Bass finished seventh in the same event (3.45 meters).
Tuskegee had a strong showing in the decathlon, with
KeyWun Rowles finishing seventh with 5,344 points,
Christian Sanders placing eighth with 5,046 points, and
Deinkepribo Harry rounding out the effort with a ninth-place finish at 4,876 points.
Sanders also competed in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing 16th with a time of 15.95 seconds.
On the distance side,
Jayden Davidson earned top five finishes in two events, taking fifth in both the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:20.48) and the 1500 meters (4:12.37), while also placing seventh in the 800 meters (1:58.71) and 16th in the 5000 meters (19:00.56).
Edgar Kosgei turned in a sixth-place finish in the 5000 meters (17:13.85), a seventh-place finish in the 10,000 meters (36:05.64), and another seventh place showing in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:30.75).
Dennis Kibet added to the team's scoring by finishing 12th in the 10,000 meters (37:57.37) and 12th in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:21.51), along with a 13th-place finish in the 5000 meters (18:08.18).
In the throwing events,
Drake Hudson placed 11th in the hammer throw, 23rd in the javelin, and 13th in the discus with a mark of 37.85 meters.
Northern also competed in the 400 meters, placing 15th overall with a time of 49.13 seconds, while Jones placed 20th at 50.39 seconds.
The Golden Tigers' combination of event wins, top-five finishes, and depth across multiple events helped them secure a fifth-place team finish, capping off a competitive weekend in Columbia.
