JACKSON, Tenn. — The Tuskegee softball team opened SIAC play in dominant fashion over the weekend, sweeping Lane College in a three-game road series at Muse Park. The Golden Tigers defeated the Dragons 20-0 in five innings and 13-3 in six innings on Saturday before closing the series Sunday with a 15-2 win in five innings.

Tuskegee outscored Lane 48-5 across the series, powered by timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and strong pitching performances.

Tuskegee 20, Lane 0 (5 Innings)
Tuskegee set the tone early in Saturday's opener, scoring three runs in the first inning highlighted by a three-run home run from
Taneah Gibbons. The Golden Tigers added two more runs in the second before erupting for 12 runs in the fourth inning to break the game wide open.

The fourth-inning rally featured RBI hits from multiple batters, including timely singles from
Kenya Tatum and
Addy Peaden, along with aggressive baserunning that capitalized on Lane defensive miscues. Tuskegee finished with 14 hits in the run-rule victory.

Tamiya Martin led the offense with three hits and multiple runs scored, while Gibbons drove in three runs. Tatum collected two hits and drove in key runs during the fourth-inning surge.

In the circle,
Monica Rose tossed a five-inning shutout, allowing just one hit while striking out nine to secure the win. Lane managed only one hit in the contest and committed two errors defensively.

Tuskegee 13, Lane 3 (6 Innings)
Tuskegee continued its offensive momentum in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, plating five runs in the opening frame.
Martha Hurt delivered an RBI double, and
Jordyn Belote followed with a two-run single to give Tuskegee early control.

Lane responded with a pair of runs in the first and another in the second, but Tuskegee answered immediately. The Golden Tigers added two runs in the fourth before pulling away with a four-run sixth inning to secure the run-rule victory.

Tuskegee finished with 15 hits in the contest. Hurt paced the lineup with multiple hits and RBIs, while Belote and
Rachel Ross each contributed key extra-base hits.
Payton Dunham added speed on the bases with multiple stolen bases.

Jordan Garcia earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out eight across five innings of work.

Tuskegee 15, Lane 2 (5 Innings)
Tuskegee completed the sweep Sunday with another explosive performance, scoring five runs in the first inning and never looking back. RBI hits from Hurt and Belote sparked the early surge, and Tuskegee capitalized on Lane errors to extend the lead.

After Lane pushed across two runs in the first inning, Tuskegee responded with a dominant six-run fourth inning. Gibbons delivered another big hit, while Ross and Peaden added RBIs to extend the advantage.

Tuskegee totaled 16 hits in the finale. Hurt and Ross each recorded multi-hit performances, while Tatum added extra-base power. The Golden Tigers once again applied pressure on the base paths, forcing Lane into multiple defensive miscues.

Brianna Lachermeier controlled the game in the circle, allowing just two runs while limiting Lane's opportunities across five innings.
