TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The Tuskegee softball team split its Friday doubleheader with Faulkner at home, earning a 3-2 victory in the first game before falling 8-5 in the second.

The Golden Tigers leaned on timely hitting and strong pitching to take the opener.

Tuskegee broke through in the second inning when
Kaitlyn Fletcher delivered a three-run home run to left field, scoring
Jordyn Belote and Ava Meredith to give the Golden Tigers a 3-0 lead.

Faulkner responded in the sixth inning, using patient at-bats and situational hitting to push across two runs and cut the deficit to 3-2.

In the circle,
Monica Rose (2-1) earned the complete-game victory, tossing seven innings while allowing just two runs. Rose limited Faulkner's momentum late, preserving the one-run advantage.

Fletcher finished with three RBI to pace Tuskegee offensively, while the Golden Tigers recorded six total hits.

The nightcap featured early offense once again from Tuskegee.

The Golden Tigers jumped ahead in the second inning as Journey Madison drove in two runs with a double to left center. Additional execution on the bases extended the lead to 3-0.

Faulkner chipped away before breaking the game open in the fifth inning, scoring four runs to take control. A key three-run double from Sarah Williams sparked the rally. The Eagles added three more in the sixth to build an 8-4 advantage.

Tuskegee answered in the seventh, but the rally fell short as Faulkner secured the split.

Both teams finished with 11 hits in the contest. Madison and Fletcher delivered key offensive production for the Golden Tigers.
