TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee University football team is set to face a significant challenge in the first true road test of the season with a trip south to take on the Grambling State Tigers on Saturday night at 6 p.m. CT, with the game being televised on HBCU Go.
This highly anticipated contest marks just the fourth meeting all-time between these two storied HBCU programs and the first since 1949, adding a layer of history and excitement to the game.

The Golden Tigers are looking to bounce back from a hard-fought 21-13 loss to Johnson C. Smith University in the Red Tails Classic, held in Montgomery.

Aaron James emphasized the need for the team to remain focused and learn from their season-opening defeat as they prepare for the heightened competition in Grambling.
The Golden Tigers displayed strong moments, including a 15-yard touchdown pass from Beal to wide receiver
Karon Taylor in the second quarter, which briefly tied the game at 7-7. Running back
Johnny Morris III also added a one-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, narrowing the deficit to 14-13. However, Johnson C. Smith pulled away with a late touchdown to secure the win.
Tuskegee's defense, led by standout performances from linebacker
Kaquan Kimber (10 total tackles) and defensive back
Rossie Grimes (9 total tackles), kept the Golden Tigers in the game. Grimes also contributed with a key pass breakup, while defensive lineman
Javeon Miller registered a sack.
ABOUT GRAMBLING STATE (0-1)
Grambling State enters Saturday's contest 0-1 on 0the season, following a 40-10 loss versus the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. In that game, the Tigers amassed 241 yards of offense with 166 of those yards coming through the air. GSU trailed 30-0 at halftime, but played an even second half, limiting the Ragin Cajuns to 10 points and avoiding the shutout.
Starting quarterback Myles Crawley had an efficient night, going 19-for-28 for 166 yards and one interception. His top target was Nick Howard who snagged five passes for 68 yards.
Ke'Travion Hargrove led the GSU rushing attack with 61 yards on 12 carries. Defensively, Blake Davis had a solid night racking up a game-high eight total tackles with seven solo stops. He also had an interception and a sack.
