TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee Golden Tigers dominated Oakwood University in a straight-set victory on Monday evening inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center, winning 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-22).
Tuskegee started strong in the opening set, with ten combined kills between
Ma'Kayla Jones,
Moriah Seay, and
Sian Sprinkle along with a .464 team hitting percentage. The Golden Tigers earned 14 total kills in the set and finished on a 13-0 run to win 25-12.
Mikea Allen facilitated the offense with 11 of her 21 assists in the first, while
Lauren Ware led the team with six digs, helping hold the Ambassadors to just a .143 hitting percentage.
Tuskegee dominated the second in a similar fashion, earning 14 kills and maintaining a .400 hitting percentage. The Ambassadors were held to just six kills and a -.125 hitting percentage in a set that saw ten errors from the visiting team.
The third and final set was more competitive as Oakwood tightened its defense, but the Golden Tigers offense remained resilient. Jones added another five kills while
Taylor Coleman also contributed four key kills to halt Oakwood's momentum.
Jones finished with a game-high ten kills and three blocks, while Seay added nine kills, 12 digs, and four services aces. Meanwhile, Sprinkle was a force on both ends, ending with seven kills and three blocks, while
Amara Dotson dished out ten assists with four service aces.

Tuskegee will return to play on Tuesday, October 1 as the Golden Tigers will hit the road to take on former conference rival Stillman. The two programs will meet at 6 p.m. inside of Bithright Alumni Hall.
