TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee softball picked up two more conference wins on the road this Saturday afternoon, defeating rival Miles 5-1 in game one before run-ruling the Golden Bears 15-1 in five innings. The two wins now extends the current win streak to five games, dating back to April 4.

Senior
Kamya Hampton struck out ten batters as the starting pitcher led the Golden Tigers past Miles 5-1 in the opening game of the series. Hampton surrendered three hits and one run over seven innings while walking one.
Tuskegee was first to get on the board in the first inning as
T'yauna Rector led off the game with a single to center field and stole second and third before forcing a throwing error to give TU the 1-0 lead.
The score remained there until the top of the fifth, with
Payton Dunham reaching base on a single. The freshman later stole two bases and scored on a throwing error, putting the road team up 2-0. Leading by the same margin in the seventh, the Golden Tigers added three runs for insurance in the top of the inning, thanks to a pair of RBIs from Dunham who got on base again on another infield error.
Miles got on the board in the bottom half of the seventh, however could not rally, giving Tuskegee the 5-1 win.
Dunham led the way offensively from her nine spot in the lineup, going 2-for-3 at the plate and driving in two runs. Meanwhile, Rector also earned multiple hits, going 2-for-4 at the plate with one run batted in and one run scored. The duo also combined for four of the five stolen bases by the team in the win.

The Golden Tigers got on the board first for the second time in game two after Dunham and
Jessica Morales both scored off Miles errors after reaching on singles, giving TU an early 2-0 lead.
A triple by
T'yauna Rector, followed by a line out by Dunham helped Tuskegee extend its lead in the second with three runs. TU scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the third to break the game open on hits that including RBI singles from
Nylah Strange-Lindley and Dunham, followed by doubles from
Jada Chadwick and
Carole Ross, combining for five RBIs to go up 12-0 heading into the fourth.
Tuskegee went on to add three more runs over the next two innings and allowed just one from Miles, ended the game in the fifth by run-rule. The Golden Tigers finished with a season-high 16 hits in the win, with six batters earning multiple hits.
Katie Harris (1-2) earned the win in the circle, pitching for five innings and allowing two hits and just one run while striking out four.
Up Next
The two programs will meet for the final game of the three-game series on Sunday, with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
