TUSKEGEE — The Tuskegee University softball team will return to the field this weekend in the Red-White-Blue Classic, hosted by Columbus State.
The Golden Tigers (1-1) will play four games at Cougar Field between Saturday, Feb. 10, and Sunday, Feb. 11. Participating teams include Union, Lenoir-Rhyne, Georgia College & State, and host Columbus State.
On Saturday, Feb. 10, Tuskegee will begin the day with Union at 9 a.m., before an afternoon battle with Lenoir-Rhyne at 1 p.m. to close the day.
The Golden Tigers will meet Georgia College & State on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 9:30 a.m., before taking on host Columbus State at 1:30 p.m. to wrap up the Red-White-Blue-Classic.

Tuskegee split a pair of matches on the first day of last weekend's Mardi Gras Invitational, falling to Southern Nazarene (9-3) and defeating Augustana (4-1) before the cancelation of the rest of the weekend due to weather conditions in Youngsville, La.
Union is the first matchup for the Golden Tigers on Saturday morning and enters the game at 2-2 overall after also competing in the Mardi Gras Invitational last weekend in Youngsville, La. Six batters earned multiple hits over the first four games, led by Macey Neal with six hits, three runs, and three RBIs.
Lenoir-Rhyne (3-1) enters the weekend after taking a doubleheader over UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Lora Beth Wood leads the way so far at the plate, batting .667 with a .769 on base percentage. Lauren Rakes leads in RBI (8) and home runs (3), while three pitchers in the rotation have earned wins.
Tuskegee will start day two against Georgia College & State, who enter the classic 2-1 after an opening weekend series against Emmanuel. Kam Caldwell leads the offense so far through three games, batting .333 along with having three hits, three runs, and two runs batted in. In the circle, both Jana Shellhorse and Tiffany Caban both picked up wins over Emmanuel and have ERAs of 1.00 and 1.40 respectively.
Columbus State posts a 2-4 record entering the classic, coming off two losses to Emmanuel University on Wednesday. Ansley Collins leads CSU's offense with a .533 batting average and a .556 on base percentage. Brooke Miller ranks first on the team with nine RBIs and three home runs. Meanwhile, Haylee Folds leads the pitching staff with a 2-0 record, with two complete games and a 5.32 ERA.
