TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Coming off a meeting in Fairfield last weekend, Tuskegee and Miles met again, this time inside of Daniel "Chappie" James Center, as the Golden Tigers took down their rival 62-55 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Tuskegee started the game strong, jumping out to a 4-0 lead on scores from 
Arielle McElroy and 
Alana Roberts. Miles responded with its own consecutive score to tie the game for the first of three times over the first of three times over the first six minutes of play.
 
McElroy got on the board again to break a 9-9 tie with a three pointer with just over three minutes to go in the period, sparking a 6-4 run to put TU up 15-13 after one.
 
Tuskegee continued to control the tempo in the second, stretching their lead to seven (20-13) after a 
Brittney Bolin three, her second of the game. Miles found some offense on the next possession, scoring on consecutive possessions to get within three points before later taking a 22-21 lead with just under three minutes remaining in the half and led by the same score at the break
The Golden Tigers jumped out to an eight-point lead twice in the third, with the last at 32-24 right after the media timeout. Out of the break, Miles got hot, outscoring Tuskegee 12-2 for the remainder of the quarter to take a 36-34 lead heading into the fourth.
 
McElroy sank a three on the first possession of the final frame to give TU its first lead of the quarter, however the teams went back-and-forth over the next few possessions. With the game tied 39-39, Miles went on a short spurt to push the lead to four at the six-minute mark.
 
From there, Tuskegee went on to tie the game again at 45-45 after scores from McElroy and 
Sumaiyah Abdur-Rahim, yet still trailed by two at the media break. The game would be tied once more at 47-47, before the Golden Tigers finished the game on a 15-8 stretch, as TU shot 73 percent from the field in the fourth and 80 percent from the free throw line to secure the win.
For the game, Tuskegee shot 47.2 percent (25-for-53) from the field, 33.3 percent (6-for-18) from three and 85.7 percent (6-for-7) from the free throw line. Bolin, McElroy, and Roberts all finished with 15 points to lead the team, while 
Cynaye Bobbitt added eight points, six rebounds and a steal on the day.
 
Reigning SIAC Player of the week Iemyiah Harris led Miles with a game-high 27 points, followed by Madison Lee who finished with a double-double of ten points and ten boards in the loss.

Tuskegee will have a week off before its next game, as Lane comes in on Saturday, February 10 at 1 p.m. inside Daniel "Chappie" James Center for yet another key conference game.
